“The difference between the almost right word and the right word is … the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.”
—Mark Twain
I missed my post last week. On Monday night when I went to see if there were views and comments to be acknowledged, I was horrified to realize I failed to post the blog.
For me, this is a first.
Always meticulous in fulfilling commitments I will simply admit, due to a rigorous schedule I often write the blog and schedule it for posting on my appointed day. Never a complaint from my blog mates, and also no reminder when I fail to produce.
Who could ask for anything more? The women I have chosen to align myself with are creative, supportive, encouraging, purposeful, determined and attractive group. I love them. When you need a buddy, a shoulder to cry on, someone to vent to, or someone to have your back, they’re there. Always positive and forward thinking there is no greater gift than the friendship they bring with them to the Her Story Calls party.
So you’re probably wondering what I was doing when I missed the post.
Word Hunting.
That is correct. I was writing, which happens a lot. The muse stopped by, and informed me we “had a lot of ground to cover” and with a major vacation bearing down on us both, she thought we needed to set a few inspirational posts aside for future reference.
A little something as it were, to inspire the troops. Words of Wisdom. Precious thoughts shared with like minded people who also gaze into the mist and look for tales of daring and adventure from other worlds.
Creative inspirations. Now this is the tricky part. Finding the things that will inspire you to do good is hard. Inspiration to do even better, really difficult.
So anyway, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Word Hunting.
Will it replace archery, deer hunting or Hillbilly Hand Fishin’?
I don’t think so, but you can spend an incredible amount of time searching for the perfect word. It’s almost as difficult as finding the right name. Umm, character naming. Now there’s a story.
